Hi Everyone,

I had my take down surgery just over a year ago now. Things have been running pretty smoothly. Previous to second surgery I had numerous bowel obstructions and had to have reversal 5 weeks after first surgery so no real time to heal. It took a long time to recover after reversal. Over the past 6 weeks I have been having trouble with my pouch. This will be the 2nd time it has happened. My j pouch feels full and aches but not much comes out. I can slowly feel it getting worse and then I physically can not push anything out. I am at that point now. No real pain but tummy feels yuck and slightly nauseated but nothing like an obstruction. Last time it happened it seemed to correct itself and almost felt like after an obstruction when it pours out. Don't have specialist appointment until 15th July.

First time posting so hope I have explained myself properly.

Thanks,

Sally

You say that you feel your pouch being full. If that is the case and you do have a structure, it would be on the exit end. The good news is you can find out for yourself if it is a stricture. Just use your finger. I know easier said than done and I'm only new to all of this, but I just left the hospital with all this information on Wednesday. Maybe it's something you hadn't thought of. Hope this helps.
