Yes and no...(other than the result of an accident last year) I usually get pain if I am very dehydrated...that is a tell for me or if my legs feel as if they weigh 1000lbs each...or swelling due to salt abuse, toxicity or overuse (I walk a lot)...also I get pain from inactivity...yes, not moving and not walking makes things worse for me...getting up from bed or the sofa after long periods of inactivity is really hard...but once I have been walking for a while things tend to loosen up and the pain lessens.
It is a balancing act or keep the salt down but not too low, walk but not too much, stretch but just enough, strength build the knees (they are killing me with the Tens electrostimulation machine and weights)...and keeping hydrated.
