There is no diarrhea . I went to ER for rectal bleeding . When my doctor scoped me , he saw lot of moderate to severe ulcerations in my j pouch with few of them in ileum . My j pouch and cuff both are inflamed but no urgency . I am constipated .i haven't received my biopsy report yet . I am being put on cipro and metronidazole . My doctor said it could be crohns . Did anyone had experienced this .i don't know what to do .just scared .

I'm not sure what your pre colectomy diagnosis was but I have ulcers in my jpouch and no crohns.  I do get pouchitis where I have urgency, more frequent barhroom trips  and painful cramping but no bleeding.

Im sorry you are experiencing this. Hopefully they did biopsies of your pouch. The cipro should help heal the ulcers and possibly Canasa suppositories or anycort suppositories can help calm the cuff.

I am not sure about the constipation,  but I find whenever my cuff or pouch are inflamed, my symptoms are never the same. Pouchitis can cause difficulty with emptying your pouch. Try. It to get nervous about diagnosis and focus on treatment at this time.  Good luck.

Nish123,

i have had scattered uocerations and inflammation chronically in both J Pouch and ileum above the Pouch. It's considered Crohn's but the treatment is basically the same, antibiotics and Biologics, first antibiotics and then Biologics depending on the degree of response to treatment. I am at the moment on a rotating Regimen of Cipro/Flagyl and Xifaxin and Tinidizole plus infused with Remicade 900 mg every 6 weeks now.

BTW I have had inflammation chronically since 1994 so it can be treated and lived with. Some of my scope pics look quite horrible but my quality of life with treatment is good. I am in big trouble if I go off antibiotics which I have taken chronically for 23 years. You need treatment and should respond to the antibiotics. If not there are many biological drugs Remicade usually being first in line. Good luck.
