I had been in remission for severe pouchitis and cuffitis the past six weeks. Now, just days before we were supposed to be leaving for Mexico, I have flared up. The pain is severe and I am bleeding. A lot. I'm scared. I've gone back on Cipro and Flagyl but they're not kicking in as fast as they used to. Not sure what I'm going to do on the plane or at the resort. Adult diapers I guess. I'm really disappointed. I had hoped this remission was the beginning of something good. I'm so tired of always being sick.

Maybe try local type meds... Rowesa, mesalamine, entocort...for diet, stay away from sugars, have bland foods...also, use baby/wet wipes instead of or in addition to tp..some have aloe, some have no alcohol, just mild ingredients safely used for infants...then use a skin protectant...also, perhaps a short term of medrol ... This is just info based on me being a former j poucher with experience in pouchitis, etc...get physicians advice/direction in regard to the above suggestions .. hopefully dealing with the pouchitis on a multilevel treatment plan can help with the symptoms...feel better soon, Randers
