Hi.

Over the past 2 days I have been experiencing mild stomach cramps, extremely liquid BMs, moderate amounts of belching and yesterday night, threw up due to feeling bloated/uncomfortable. It was after last night's experience that I felt much better, and since then, I have been sticking to liquids, liquid yogurts and very watery soups to keep my fluid intake up. This afternoon, I took a hot bath and had a glass of wine (Read on this forum they were recommended), and had a 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil in custard.

I was just wondering how long does it normally take for partial blockages to go away. Last night, after I threw up, I had one BM with a high level of soft matter, but I still feel bloated if I eat to much and get small stomach pains after eating a meal.

Hello, Thom.

How are you now? Did the distention clear up? I've only had one minor stoppage since my reversal a year ago so I don't have too much experience with blockages but I thought I would share my episode. I had cramps, abdominal pain, couldn't sit up, no BMs for many hours. Very frightening. The episode lasted almost 36 hours, then a sudden liquid BM and it seemed to clear, and the nausea and pain ended. I sipped liquids throughout. Nibbled on toast. For me it was caused by too many Brussels sprouts and potatoes. At the same time. I hope it didn't last long for you.

Hi.

So a day after posting this, I started getting the occasional soft BM and started on soft solids again to see how things were going. I could feel myself getting slightly bloated with the occasional stomach ache, so I then went back on liquids again for one more day. During this time, I started doing slightly normal BMs so I then went back on soft solids and then a regular diet the day after. During this time, my BMs returned to normal, but the stomach pain would occasionally come after eating a medium to large meal, so I kept my portions small and more spread out through the day. Eventually the stomach aches stopped, but it was at least an extra week of constant monitoring before everything returned back to normal. It was only the minor stomach pains that persisted during this time.

Thank you for the support.

Had 50 blockages in 33 years. Go to ER. 25-50 ml of Phenagen and 25-50 mg of morphine works 95 % of the time. Before I go I take pain   Drink lots of water and lay upside down with hot water bottle. Works also. Hope this helps. T

I have seen an Osteopath who has done some work on my tummy to break up adhesions and scar tissue that seem to be the cause of obstructions.  I have had upwards to 100 obstructions over the last 30 years.  She had recommended going off of gluten and staying away from cheese and milk products plus coffee.  I have the occasional coffee and the occasional piece of cheese.  I haven't had an obstruction that required hospital visitation in about 5months.  I am hoping this is the answer.  It is certainly worth a try!!!! :-)

I hope this can help others who are willing to try just about anything to avoid the drastic pain involved and possible life threatening situation.
