I am 28 weeks pregnant with my first baby and my jpouch will be 2 years old right when he is born. I will deliver via c-section in early July.

I took a breastfeeding class at my hospital, but was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for breastfeeding with a jpouch? Luckily, I've had a very easy pregnancy (so far!) and usually my jpouch doesn't have too many problems. I do have pouchitis on and off and take a few Flagyl every few weeks to keep it in check.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I had trouble with making milk after my first was born.  Drink lots of water.  Dehydration can impact water supply.  My poor baby was starving and none of the dr's or health professionals would not even suggest formula.  Finally after 3 months of hell and him not gaining much weight I started supplementing with formula...happy fed baby made for happy mom.  I dried up completely by the time he was 6 months.

Second baby I decided that I would supplement with formula right from the start.  Much less stress and I was able to bread feed until she was 9 months before I dried up.

I know breast is best but sometimes it can't be the only option.

I didn't find any impact on my j-pouch with breastfeeding.  The biggest thing is to drink lots of water, eat well and try not to stress too much.
