overall I am ok with my pouch, however I am tired of feeling like I need to go ALL the time. It feels like whenever more stool enters my pouch I get pressure build up and a strong need to go until everything settles into place. At times this can be painful, lasts 20-30 seconds, and can range from once to many times an hour. I have no problems at all holding it, but if I am near a toilet I just want to let it out so the feeling goes away. Unfortunately even after going to the bathroom the cycle starts again not that long after. Normally my stool is somewhat formed, so I don't think it is a consistency issue, and most of the time if I sit to go and am not having this strong urge nothing comes out unless I push. I just don't get it at all.

So you have been at this 8-9 months, right? I will tell you I was in a similar place still after my surgery - continual feelings of needing to go. Took time (I know, right? Who wants that answer), but I know of others who have gotten anti-spasmodic medication from their doctors to help alleviate the problem.

How much gas do you have? I think that, along with sensitivity issues in the anal canal due to healing and the acidity of stool were the major culprits. I just kept trying different things to see what made things better. And it's usually not the same answer for everyone. For me, Metamucil wafers + Prilosec seem to have helped me a ton. Prilosec (once a day) reduces the acidity - and probably the bacterial composition in my gut - and has reduced the anal canal burn significantly. With that resolved, the frequency of BMs also went down.

Lidocaine also can help with calming things - have to get it up in there though.

Just some suggestions.
