Hi, I have been unable to eat regularly since July, 2015. This has impacted my life greatly. I am a stay-at-home mom and am unable to keep up with my daily tasks because of the lack of nutrition, pain and bleeding I have been dealing with on a constant basis. I have travelled around to several "experts" who test me to death (seemingly to use up my insurance:-) and try me on meds and diagnose me with ridiculous things but only a few  have actually examined the anal area where I am bleeding. I was given Anucot-HC suppositories which may have helped IF I could possibly get them in the anal canal. I have read on several boards about "dilation" and maybe that is what I need. I had a j-pouch, surgery done in 1991, so I suppose dilation is possible. I suspect I have cuffitis with a touch every now and then with pouchitis. Everyone is so focused on my pouch, or whether I have Crohn's, or checking my other organs that they seem to be ignoring that I tell them that there is blood when I wipe, etc.. The only things I eat right now are graham crackers, nutty buddys and biscuits with cheese and occasionally I put up with the gas side effects of ice cream, because I have to live a little, but it does not cause a problem because it is not "hard" to digest". I think my anal canal consticts when it gets inflamed with I guess the cuffitis and food scrapes and presses pushes hard against the anal canal to come out-now, that is just the little bit of food I eat each day which cause some bleeding sometimes. These food are not healthy, but they are what I have found that I can balance the pain. I switched food around since July, 2015. I used to be able to tolerate some granola and a little more food, but I have had to eliminate things to be able to handle pain, stay out of the bathroom and handle as many daily household tasks as possible.  If I try to eat a normal healthy diet for a j-poucher, I die a thousand deaths for the excruciating belly pain and anal pain with bleeding. (I have been to Mayo for one visit and the guy who replaced Metzger annouced he was "the new Metzger"-The "Old" Metzger did my surgeries- and told me I was going to have to have my pouch removed because I had a fistula from the outside of my anus to my pouch ---he said this without even perfoming and diagnostic tests to confirm the fistula. I have since had confirmed that I just had a fissure. I am now at Emory University in Atlanta because we moved and feel like they are just treating my pouch issue and not the anal issue.Has me Xiafaxanand wanted on VSL#3-too expensive at my pharmacy, still trying to work out or trying to find alternative) Does anybody have similar problems putting suppositories in the anal canal? Is anybody's food restricted like me because of pain/bleeding in the anal canal? Is anybody else suffering with such a poor diet because of pain/bleeding in the anal canal?

It would seem that you still have a fissure, which would explain the pain and bleeding, and even the spasms of your sphincters. Fissures tend to be recurrent, so it is unclear to me why your current doctor is not considering it.

If you can't get the HC suppository in, you may also have a stricture. It is easy enough to diagnose by attempting to insert a finger past the suture line. If it is too tight due to spasms, you might try inserting the suppository after a warm sitz bath.

This sounds intolerable to me.
