Hi all,

I was having monthly flare-ups for almost a  year, and after reading posts on here about the importance of iron and Vitamin D in small intestinal health decided to start bolstering my levels (I'm deficient in both). I haven't had much luck getting my D levels up, but thanks to a liquid iron supplement (Floradix iron and herbs) I'm slowly getting into the normal range with my ferritin. At the risk of jinxing myself, ever since I started the iron supplement my monthly flare-ups have stopped! Every now and then I'll eat something that gives me watery output or a sore butt, but it's no longer the regularly scheduled pouchitis symptoms (they always came on 10-15 days before my period.) I'm finally back to only waking up once a night (instead or 4-5 times) and my number of daytime trips to the bathroom have reduced as well. My energy itself is kind of up-and-down, but I'll take it.

I just wanted to put it out there in case it might be helpful for anyone else to try. Good luck!
