I had the pouch disconnected about three months ago and went to a end ileo due to constant abscesses, fistulas, and pouchitis. I now have a perm end ileo and things were decent the first month plus. Twice now I've had this major swelling of the abdomen on the ileo side with the majority of the swelling being near the ileo. Originally it was thought to be a hernia since I bodybuild. Now my doctors think I'm starting to get abcesses around the stoma. First time I took a heavy dose of Cipro/flagyl and things eventually cleared up. Now ... I'm here again with the same exact issue. Stomach is swollen, I have little to no appetite, off and on fever, nausea. Is the pouch left in causing all these problems? I bit the bullet and did away with the pouch because I was so tired of feeling terrible all the time. Now, it's like I still have the same problems I had with the pouch connected. I know there are some users here that have had issues with the pouch so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I want to move on already and it's just constant setback after setback.
