I try to avoid drinking water at work because it causes me to need to have a BM more urgently.  Thus, I try to drink as much as I can either at home, or right before I know I'm going to go anyways at work.

But I still think I am probably not drinking enough water and would like to drink more.  Do others have this problem?  I take an Immodium every day as well as a Metamucil wafer.

Other than the need to urinate more, has very little effect on my number of BM's or output,

I've suffered from fatigue and dehydration, to the extent of requiring emergency IV fluids, therefore my Doctors has suggested I consume at least 3 litres of fluid per day.

Specislist at the hospital have stated, that rather than measure how much fluids I'm drinking, it's easier to observe how often I urinate; ideally I should urinate no less than 3 times per day.

Urine is waste; what the body no longer needs and our body gets rid of excess fluid through urination.

I also take Imodium 3 times per day, I've never used Metamucil

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure things out, even though I've had my pouch for 12 years now.  i never really cared too much when/where i went since I was in school this whole time.  I just recently started taking Immodium daily and last year was when I first started taking the Metamucil regularly.  The problem I'm facing is that I'm getting too clogged up.  I tried reducing the dosage, but that didn't have the slowing effects I wanted.

I generally take one Lomotil at bedtime only. I've been lucky enough to never get clogged up, but I always drink plenty of water. I think a J-pouches intentionally reducing fluid intake is making an error.

For years I pooped whenever I had to pee. Eventually I decided I was better off just peeing many of those times, so I worked pretty hard to get the hang of it. I think it's better overall. In particular, drinking plenty of water no longer fools me into thinking I have to poop more often.

So you just held the poop?

I find that if I don't drink enough water, I still need to go but get incomplete emptying.  Drinking more water means I empty better and an more comfortable.  I also find taking loperomide or too much fibre has the same effect of restricting emptying.  It surprised me but reducing actually helped...

Best advice is to keep trying new things, and don't forget to retry stuff you already discounted.. your body changes, as do other subtle things like diet.
