I recently had an FMT done after six months of a c. Diff infection that didn't respond to antibiotic treatments.  At the same time as the FMT, Dr. Shen scoped my pouch which looked pristine with no inflammation (hooray!). My donor cleared all tests and has no digestive issues. Post-FMT, I am in a world of hurt with diarrhea, pain, mucus, loss of appetite, and spending the night sleeping by the toilet, but I've tested negative for c. diff (!). I am miserable and having flashbacks to the 20 years I lived with UC. Is this a normal reaction to an FMT? Does it take time for the body to adjust to the 'new bugs?'  How long does this go on for on average? What can I do? Imodium, lomotil, probiotics are not working. I'm tempted to go back to antibiotic therapy because I'm at my wits end and feel like I'm on that cusp of completely crashing (you all know what I mean).  Local doctors have no idea about any of this and I don't live in the mainland US, so options for medical care are grim and limited and I literally just spent thousands of dollars to make the trip to Cleveland Clinic . Please help.
