When you say that you are healed what does that mean? 6 weeks or 6 months?

I like to divide the healing process (and the re-education of your abs and body)  into 3 stages: 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.

For the 1st 3 months I have learned to do nothing strenuous other than walking...light housework and very easy yoga breathing.

From 3 to 6 months I start working on the pilâtes ball and the yoga mats doing mostly isometric work of breathing, tightening and holding for 5-10 seconds at a time. I work each muscle group for 3-6 sets...sometimes I do them while lifting my but in the air (modified  planks).

From 6 months to a year I do light crunches, more pilâtes work on the ball and modified yoga positions.

If at any time you feel a sudden sharp pain, Stop! You should be building up gently and reinforcing all of your core muscles not straining or pulling muscles.

Be aware of hour posture, hold your breath then breath out deeply when walking, especially uphill.

This is a long marathon and not a quick sprint...so take your time and build up slowly.
