Good morning all! I have UC and had j pouch surgery 13 years ago. Last night I was eating cherries and little plums which usually have no effect on me. Well I had some pits in my mouth and my cat jumped on the counter behind me scared the crap outta me and I swallowed the pits!!!! Not sure exactly how many many 5-10!!! So far no issues but some mild cramping and heartburn and burps! Can the pits get lodged in my j-pouch?? What should I do?

The pits will most likely emerge without incident.

Should be fine. The pits are small, so unless you have had issues in the past with obstructions, I would not worry about it. You may want to add some bulk with soluble fiber to help make passage a little easier on your butt! Those plum pits may have some rough edges.

I would also advise not storing quite so many pits in your mouth at once...

Funny! If never even occurred to me NOT to spit the pit out after each cherry! I'd be more afraid of breaking a tooth on one, than swallowing any.
