Hey! I've always had very regular bms since my takedown surgery 15 years ago. Unless I have pouchitis I average about 4-6 per day. It's been 24 hours+ since my last bm and I'm starting to get a little worried as this hasn't happened to me before. I have been able to pass gas, if that makes any difference. Do I need to jump in to see a doctor or should I just keep drinking fluids and doing yoga on the toilet?

I agree, impaction is always a worry. If I hadn't 'been' for 24 hours I would be seriously worried. Long before that I would push fluids - juices mostly' and eat fruit that I know will dynamise the small bowel like grapes, plums and other fruits from past experience. I have never ever gone longer than 6 hours since surgery 17 years ago except for when I am asleep when a few trips to the loo to make sure all is quiet will allow me a good 6- hours sleep. If I want to time matters so as to organize my life I wait until I have eaten when the gastro colic reflex kicks in. Then I sit and wait feeling the urge for a while until it is convenient to go. I really don't want my pouch demands to dominate my life
