Hi all, I just tried some samples of the Coloplast Sensura Mio, convex wafer, one piece. I LOVE it, and I was pretty happy with my regular Coloplast bag. It's see through but has a soft, water repellant cover that you can lift to see your stoma or center the hole when putting the bag on. It has two very functional Velcro locations. The bag adhesive is much softer and pliable than their usual hard adhesive. As if that weren't enough, it has two sets of belt tabs so you can use a belt even if you wear your bag at an angle (you use the left one from the top set and the right one from the lower set.) They really thought of everything. And, no, I am not getting paid by Coloplast to say all of this, it's just really a great, great bag. The hot sweaty summer will truly tell regarding the adhesiveness, but I'm feelin' the love for the Mio!

I had a good experience with the same set up. I was to the point of changing over then I discovered what for me was a fatal flaw. The velcro closure failed. The bag was pretty full ( naturally) and this put some pressure on the velcro, I had been very active ( yoga) so the bag had become "untucked" but I am not exactly sure what hapened other than it was a mess. If you check the strength of the velcro it seems much weaker than the regular one piece Sensura that I normally use. Very weak grip and much easier to pull open, quieter but at a price. So beware, for now I am sicking with my nearly bullet proof set up: one piece mild convex Sensura, Eakins seal and Bravo half moon barrier strips. Other than the crappy filter it works well.
Aha, thank for the heads up. That IS a fatal flaw! Actually, I'm not as positive about the Mio anymore. I'm trying so hard to like it - like a date who has all of the right attributes but the chemistry is just not there! The edges dig into my skin and the adhesive is just not as sticky as my usual Coloplast and also is somewhat irritating to my skin as I'm sweating more this summer. The "transparency" isn't as see through as a typical transparent bag. Like having blurry vision. I used three bags one day just trying to center the opening over my stoma because I couldn't see it clearly. So I think I'll be going back to same bag I used and that you use, the Sensura. I do really like it. I practice yoga, too, and that baby stays on throughout. BTW, I use a mini binder clip on the end of my bag and have NEVER had it open on me since my surgery seventeen months ago. It was my fear as it happened four times during my time with my temp.
I am going to dig out my binder clips right after posting this!
I tried them too but the wafer is too hard. I was wearing the double belt and all but it wasn't for me.
I just can’t stand a damn belt. I would and did get better wearing times when wearing it with all of the different kinds I've tried.
TE Marie, I spoke with an ostomy nurse during my perm ileo surgery hospitalization about my concerns about the end of my bag opening and the contents spilling out. She had an ostomy and she was the one to suggest the mini binder clips. By far the best piece of advice I've ever gotten from any professional. I had my bag open in public with my temp ileo and somehow no one saw but it was horrifying. Yeah, I don't like the feel of a belt, either. It feels like a girdle or something. I was always tugging at it. Now I wear my bag at an angle, so it wouldn't work anyway.
I have the small clips on right now and feel more Secure! That is my major beef with Convatec's bags. Velcro is better than those stupid clips but the clips are great.
I think I might have said coloplast instead of Convatec in an earlier thread......
