Don't eat after 8pm!  Other than this, how are you feeling?

I actually feel ok I guess. Although I don't even know what ok is anymore. lol. I am always achey but I think that's just me getting older and from decades of throwing myself around the baseball field. I think I am just arthritic to some point. My pouch it doing ok. I still go to bathroom 5-7 times a day depending on diet of course. I take Immodium here and there but not religiously. Almost eating everything. I am able to hold if I feel urgency. I do sometimes still get leakage but its not horrible, some days more than others. I guess not to bad 11 weeks after takedown. Scope 3 weeks ago, showed very mild pouch prolapse but Shen and Remzi are not concerned at all about it. And had some ulceration along the suture line which Shen stated is "normal". other than that he said pouch looks very good. But of course, any little thing I think the very worse just cuz of my history.

i so want to have the redo fine it not sure I could withstand 3 more surgeries and the anxiety of another possible pouch failure. I know I have to do something soon as my quality of life is abysmal. People would think I'm maschochistic to deal with all the repeat bathroom trips and co start shaking pain and fissures. I am seriously considering surgery w Remzi in the fall

Pouchi,o,

Did Remzi give you  a temp ostomy fur a 6 month peruod followed  by two step surgery?  I was confused when he questioned possible crohns in my case and also suggested  the redo or perm ostomy. What was your main reason for pouch failure?  I too am very nervous about same complications occurring after redo

I already had a temp loop ileostomy at time of my redo. it was almost two years due to leak from top of pouch that gave me a spinal infection. also had a sinus tract from the get go in 2008 from a bad ecoli infection that formed an abcess  and pouch never got a chance to heal correctly. when I had my initial consult with Remzi I went in with my mind set on going for permanent ostomy and he felt confident all my issues were mechanical and a redo would be a good option.

I have multiple sinus tracts. My GI is not concerned about them as claims its from my stricture  at anastomosis and stool is looking for way to escape so creates tracts. Does not sound good to me and Remzi pretty much threw the towel in on saving my existing pouch. Stricture, Amal stenosis, fissures, small pouch, chronic pouchitis, cuff a bit longer than should be. constant  butt burn and snap pain. It's been insurmountable and been dealing with a lot of other recent life issues as well. So much stress and anxiety not helping my pouch issues. I know what you were going through.

that's a lot going on with your pouch, I wouldn't want to keep it either if I were you so I don't blame Remzi at all. What is snap pain?  yeah its tough dealing with these issues and then other parts of your body start having issues as well. You lose track of the rest of your body when we are having so many GI issues. I am bogged down with stress and anxiety as well. Its part of life I keep trying to tell myself and roll with the punches but its tough.
