It is made out of your guts so no, not as far as I know...my k pouch is almost 37 and the pouch itself is fine. (the valve has its problems but... that is another story).

I guess if you have chronic pouchitis or other problems with the pouch itself it may shorten its shelf-life but other than that I cannot see why it would need replacing...(then again, I am not a doctor)

I know that as we age our muscles get weaker, so we go to the loo more, this is a normal part of aging, so if you have a j pouch I could imagine in your late 80s etc it being a nightmare, but usually those I hear from are in their 60s so not quite at the right age yet to say if that has an impact, so I am honestly curious if people ever have it reversed when they get older as they find it more difficult to stand and go to the loo yet are going to the loo more often, I hope not, wouldn't want to have to go back to having stoma.
