So I can't complain, I feel great, go eight times a day but its fine. I am so happy and my life is back to normal. I eat whatever - not the greatest though. I have always been thin, even pre Uc. 5'5" 120 or so since I was 17 - well I hve gained 18 pounds give or take, and over all a big increase in fat and cellulite. I think Ive leveled out - but has anyone else experiences this. I have alot I can change and I will after trying on bathing suits at Target! I am forty-five and I know things change but the wait gain happened sort of sudden over months 12 - 15 post op and I feel it has to be related to surgery.

Yes, major surgery, and gut surgery in particular, can affect your metabolism. I was always reasonably thin in my youth (except when on prednisone). Had colectomy and j-pouch at age 40. I was active, yet pounds packed on. I guess my body is wanting to stow energy for the next medical crisis. Then came menopause (I was perimenopausal for a decade). I am now 20+ years post op and still struggle with weight. I just have to exercise about an hour a day and be mindful of portion control. I am not always successful.
