So I think I have an abscess due to a fistula. My doc wants to see me in the am for an exam under anesthesia. What kind of exam would it be? I have had then drained before in the office with no exam... if it is fistula then what?
We are doing the same thing! My son has an abscess and a fistula. He is going to to do exploratory surgery on May 12. They are going to look at then pouch and see if they can find the leak. In his case we know he has a leak, most likely at the suture line. That is most likely what the will do to you. Being under anastesia is the only way to do this type of exam.
