i had my Proctocholectomy feb 7. I am scheduled to have take down surgery April 28. I am thinking of postponing it because I can't get any consistencies in my stool. I know something I can eat are no problems. I take immodium before I eat and stool is ok. I eat or try something different and wham diarrhea that last for hours. If I had take down I would literally be in bathroom on toilet for hours. I can't seem to control it and just when I think I have I am whammed with more diarrhea. For instance I had immodium on board had a sandwich and a gluten free sugar free muffin. No problems. 3 days later I had dinner and same muffin and wham diarrhea. I don't feel I can have the takedown survey when all this is happening. Does anyone have any ideas. Has this happened to you. This ileostomy has more security in it then hours of diarrhea. Help please. And when I do the take down will o have to take the immodium every time I eat like I do now ?!  Thank you in advance!! Scared!

Had my Takedown surgery Thursday the 28th April. They left the ileostomy hole wound now open and it will heal from inside out. I am wearing pull ups but have had no real problems. When I sleep one night I had a little leakage. I do wake up 1 to 2 times a night to go to bathroom. I bought a luxe bidet on Amazon and put it on my toilet. I love it. The cool water is refreshing and I am having no  burning or stinging problems. When my bowel woke up it is pretty uncomfortable having food move through it. But each day I am seeing improvements and doing better. My diet is regular and I am trying different foods. I use beano and gas x. The gas is painful moving through the newly put together bowel and such. The j pouch isn't holding much yet. But I found I can control it on toilet with kegal muscles. I am watching to keep dehydration from being a problem. Thankful to everyone on here. God bless
