So still dealing with this hemorrhoid which has gotten a little better, but now I am having a lot of cramping. Of course cant tell if its stomach or pouch? tends to get worse when I eat. Also my body is just achey, but then again it felt same way when I had the ileostomy.I have not had any urgency, when do you know if its pouchitis? I know you need a scope to confirm but in the meantime do I just request some antibiotics? My post op appt is not until 4/21and my takedown was 2 days shy of a month ago. I am just starting to freak out a bit due to having issues again already so soon. I know its still early but ya know....

Pouchomarx, I hope you are having an issue!  You have been through so.   I think you need to call your doctor.  Jeff and I talk to his so much, we should invite him to Christmas dinner!  But I think it's important to keep in touch with him/her.  You are not a simple and easy case, so you need to let them know how you are feeling.  Wish I had better words of wisdom!

I spoke with my surgeons nurse today, and she stated she does not want to start be on antibiotics blindly. Said if not having any urgency or diarrhea then she doubts pouchitis. But stated I need to eat soft foods and stay very hydrated. Said if cramping continues I should probably schedule a scope with Dr Shen at some point. I will call Shen tomorrow but I am sure it will be months out to schedule a scope. Jeffsmom, why do you sound so concerned? I am not doing horribly, just some cramping and a mild hemoroid at this point. I am hoping as well everything is ok of course.
