HI! I have finally switched doctors, I wasn't getting any relief from my current Dr. So I switched to Dartmouth - Hitchcox and I am not with Dr. Holubar. He is great. He put me on new meds, which are actually helping. I just had an MRI last week, which showed a possible stricture in my small bowel from Crohns. Which would be a new DX for me, as I was orginial DX with UC. So He is going to be having me do a PillCam. then off to a GI, and then depending on what they see from the PillCam, surgery. It has been a lot to take in, but I am very thankful that we are finally getting somewhere will all the issues that I have been having. He said that the stricture, could likely be the cause of the all the bloating, bleeding and pain I have been experiencing for the last year. So in a way, that is what I am sort of hoping for. Not that I want Crohns, but I just want answers!

So I am wondering what people experiances are with Endo PillCam? Is it an outpaitent test? I know it takes about 8 hours to do, and you have to get the equipment back to the docs. I am just over 1 1/2 hour away from the doc.  Did you get answers from the PillCam?

Thanks!

I had The pillcam twice and it helped confirm crohns in my small bowel after they thought I had UC. This was in 2004 and 2007 or so and the technology for it then required a huge bundle of hard drives, wires and batteries. I looked suspicious wearing all of it but walked a mall and it passed within just a few hours even though they made me wait much longer. I couldn’t go home since I was two hours away so I walked that mall.
