I am 2 years post j-pouch surgery. overall doing well. One episode of pouchitis about 1 1/2 years post take down. Now having burning pain or more like persistent discomfort or sensory change in my R buttocks between my bony prominence and anus. It looks like I have a raised vein in this area? not really sure what to make of this????

is it warm to the touch? red, seemingly inflamed?
I don't really know but if you held a gun to my head and made me guess, I would guess possible abscess. sounds uncomfortable enough to seek medical attention.
Maybe a hemorrhoid?
Yeah, I'd get to the doctor for a looky-loo. If it was a hemorrhoid, it would be at the anus. I'd be leaning more toward peri anal/rectal abscess. Maybe a bartholin's gland cyst, depending on the location (in the perineum), but it does not sound like it is there. If you can't get in to see your GI, see your GYN doc (assuming you are female) or primary MD.
