i had my takedown exactly 3 weeks ago today. I spent 5 days in hospital and had partial obstruction from swelling but cleared and released. I was back to work after 2 weeks. First 2 weeks I dealt with horrible gas pains which have since gotten 80% better. Right now I am dealing with what I believe to be a hemorrhoid from wiping that first week. It's gotten better with bidet and Prep H cream. As of right now I probably only go poop about 6 times a day and can probably get through the night with about 6 hours of sleep. My stool is like a thick apple sauce. I have no urgency at all and I can hold it when needed. I have minimal leakage but not a lot at all.
Is this normal to be doing this well after only 3 weeks? My surgeon Dr Remzi and his nurse are amazed how well I'm doing so far. My post op appt is in 4 weeks still. It just doesn't seem normal for this to be happening so soon out does it? This is my second pouch cuz first one had so many issues for almost 8 years. It's like I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. I'm happy but so scared.
