You can absorb nutrients if you have 30 minutes of transit time. Even if you are using the toilet right after a meal, it is not likely the food you just ate, but something you ate earlier. Eating just stimulates the gut to move to make room for more.

Obviously, you are absorbing nutrients, or you would not be gaining weight.

Suggestions? Eat less food if you want to lose weight.

I never gained weight with a pouch.  Well I did gain 15 of the 50 I lost.  It took forever.  Something was wrong.

But I lost that too... Very fast.

I have a ileo now and have been gaining at least 2 and a half pounds a week since.  I even lost weight while in the hospital getting the removal.  I was down to 128 pounds.

Originally I started this from the pouch removal at 176 pounds.  Last time I checked I was 136.  I know I am over 140 by now.  I can feel it.  But I want to gain weight.

I wish I could have gained with a pouch.  I did not have the time to find out what was wrong.  I was losing it too fast and at my age... No telling what would happen.  I felt like I was slowly dying.

That has all changed now.  I am on the road to recovery and good health.

I have a high metabolism.  I ate a lot with no gain.  I do not think it was getting absorbed like it is now.

And yes... When you eat it pushes out the last meal you ate.  I can see that now.

Suggestions.

Exercise.

Diet.

By that I don't mean to go on a diet to starve yourself.

A good diet.  Healthy diet.

I think I can understand where overweight people have problems by being way underweight and having problems.

Just a reverse thing.  Both are a problem.

You don't say much.

How much you eat... Weigh... How much you have gained?

There is a lot more to this than what you posted.

Richard.
