so things have been all over the place recently because of being sick with idk what. doc said sinus congestion, anyway my normal routine has been gone now for 3 or 4 weeks. i take cipro twice a day morning and night, 1 flagyl in the morning and im taking those with 1/2 tablespoon of metamucil. usually my trips are spread out throughout the day but yesterday i didnt go at all between 8am and 8pm...and then when i went to the bathroom around 8:30ish or 9 it wasnt a heck of alot at all... there was no torrential downpour, it was solid but on the thinner side not a heck of alot though. by all accounts had there been more i would have considered it a normal bathroom trip success...

If i dont take metamucil at all then going to the bathroom becomes small bits here and there and thats immediate. as in if i stopped it this morning i would be affected by it in just a few hours.

i feel like logic says that things are to firm because of the flagyl and metamucil but if i remove metamucil its hard to get anything out. i started flagyl probably about 2 weeks ago because i noticed things were on the urgent side and thin sometimes. i also take my nightly probiotic, i forget the brand but its a simple 30 billion one, highest i could find in store, didnt want to spring the money for VSL-DS as i havent notice a difference in the past with it

where is the stool thats not coming out going if i dont visit the toilet for 12 hours is it just stagnant?

what are the chances of the pouch being ripped or torn because of all that stool not coming out and backing up into my body outside of the pouch? i would imagine i would become very sick or septic from that?

I sleep all night, that's generally nearly 9 hours no BM. I've gone longer.

It's not *necessarily* a bad thing. However for me, Metamucil, even in the beginning, made things too thick for me. I'm intolerant of Flagyl, but Cipro makes things thick for me, too. I imagine those 3 together might be making things thicker for you.

With my "old" pouch these days, and my stricture, I actually take Miralax 1-2x daily. Sometimes I do a mag sulfate to loosen things up instead. It varies. I need a thinner stool to pass things comfortably.

Pretty crazy how things changed for me... And just because I need Miralax now, doesn't mean I will in a week. My pouch is fickle.
