Sharp pain in what's left of rectum

I have been experiencing a sharp pain in the very bottom of my j-pouch, where the staples are. It feels a lot like a needle. If I just wait it out then the pain goes away. It's not a need to empty my j-pouch. Has anybody else experienced this? I do not want to bother my doctor's office if it just a regular pain. I have had the j-pouch for a year and a half now. Thank you in advance for your insights.

Hi I started having this about 6 weeks after take down , I have an extremely active pouch! It felt to me as if a staple was sticking in me - it turned out to be a large fissure. It is as you describe but also felt like I was passing glass during BM.

My first thought was also a fissure. You should call your doctor if it persists, especially if it worsens.
