So I had my j pouch operation with a temporary loop ileostomy formed 12 days ago and I am bleeding from my anus and getting quite a lot of pain up there. I have been told this is all normal post operatively as all the surgery was done there and my rectum was removed. Just wanted to get advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation? If so what did you do? And is this actually normal?

What color is the blood and how much? Are you feeling better? If not get seen ....just for a look see especially if it is worse then jus after take down.

had mine done 29 years ago - yep - went through all kinds of stuff and it's probably "normal" - do not hesitate to go to dr. or ER if you get scared. It does get better, but it took my body about a year to adjust in full. hang in there.
