Take it slow, I was 11 days hospitalized after my take down 2 years ago with a total obstruction.  Since then I have had 2 episodes of at least a partial obstruction, the other day was most recent.

Upon recovery and talking to my practitioner I was told to take it slow and eat light for a few days.  I tend to avoid fresh veggie, except for the occasional salad. I eat cooked veggies ok though.

Did they give you a list of foods to avoid like stringy celery or fresh corn? It might be a good question to ask.

Going back to work after something like that is very hard, and I don't have any advice for you. I guess it depends upon the king if work you do. My job requires a lot of travel, but when I went back I did have to go anywhere for a few weeks. There was plenty of office work to get caught up on.
