I had frank bleeding from the rectal cuff that stopped after takedown. That said, my cuff was bleeding during my last scope (probably from the scope itself).
I would say if you have the same rectal cuff, there is no reason to think that it would be better. If anything, since diversion caused me cuffitis, I don't think that it would be a good thing. My surgeons said that often they blast the rectal stump (pre step 2) or rectal cuff (pre ileo closure) with steroids and mesalamine so that you won't start out with cuffitis.
You seem to have a lot of "what if X goes wrong" questions about redoing pouch. I think it would be a good idea to ask if redo is what you really want, or whether you want to do this now. I too had an excellent, CCF surgeon who was very confident and reassuring of a good outcome. I know now that no matter how godlike your surgeon appears... things can... and at least for me will go wrong.
