Hy everyone. It was very rough time for me for some 3 last months. Three times in hospital(23 days,10 day,15 days) and I feel like I'am out of my energy and positivism. And I still have to go trough ileostomy takedown operation(one day). What's my problem? Inflamatory, it started before 3 months first and they didn't detected where it was. But with antibiotics it went away for a month. Then came back and they detected it was at beggining of j pouch. They threated it with antibiotics again and for two weeks I was doing well, I even get some weigt. Then it affected my joint-right knee, left bowl and shoulder. The knee was the worst,I had two times sukction. I had to rest and walk only with chrutches, keep my leg high and streight. This goes on for 4 weeks now and even my knee is better it only on 80% of function and I can't walk long and it tightens me. My GI says that inflamatory of joints is frequent with UC but it was almost 6 monts I had my j pouch operation. Did enyone had souch experience? How long did it last? I am pissed becouse of it I still have my illeo even my general condition is ok,my j pouch is ok, but while inflamation of joints don't pass my GI do not want sigh me for takedown.I 'm feel like creep becouse I can'walk, drive bike, run. Thanks in advance.

Yes, this happens. And no, it may not go away. The temporary peripheral arthritis associated with UC usually has about six weeks of activity. Preventing your takedown is not the answer. The answer is treating this inflammatory arthritis. Ask for a referral to a rheumatologist.  I have been on biologics for about 10 years and am doing better. I had my colectomy in 1995.
