Firstly , you guys are an inspiration and thank you . I am at week 5 I feel great and have  6-10 bowel movements a day , I am delighted with that. My life is great but this fissure is slowly reeking havoc.

I had my takedown 5 weeks ago. I have had the burning/itching butt pain which is getting better . My diet is still very safe, no acid, no spice and no alcohol and I know I can start trying new things bit by bit.

i am in so much pain down there. I am back to work and trying to get on with life, but this fissure is making my life hell.

I know most of you have had them, but this is insane. I am doing as many Sitz baths as I can , 3-4 a day. I am taking Valium 1-2 times a day. I have every cream in the world. I have lidocaine and nefedipine,

My problem is I do not know which way to proceed. Can I put lidocaine on and then nefedipine ? can I put nefedipine on and then 40% zinc oxide over it ? Ilex paste is amazing but just hides the issue and does not help it heal. I am so disheartened and done with this.

I am also aware that some of you guys out there have bigger issues and complain less so I really apologies for bit*hing.

i have been reading all of your posts for a long time and you truly give me hope but right now all I want to do is go back to the bag.

please help

I should think you could use both the lidocaine and nifedipine together (I think I read articles where it was tested as a compounded combined cream). Using some barrier cream on top of that would be OK, since it would not prevent them from being absorbed.

Have you asked your doctor these questions? If you have given this your best shot without relief, Botox injections are another option to consider.

Oh, and don't apologize for complaining about a "minor" problem. Anal pain is probably one of the worst to endure, and deserves attention. I hope you get some relief soon!

Thank you guys for responding, I appreciate it. Will Nifedipine be able to absorb through the Lidocaine ?

I work each day now and get through it but I am pretty useless come 8pm at night trying to help my wife with the kids as pain becomes bad and I do not want to take pain killers as they only constipate me.

I guess my biggest fear is that these fissures will never go away, do they ?

Thank you
