I know a few people here may have been his patient so I thought I'd share this news with the community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dr. Victor Fazio, who passed away earlier this week. Dr. Fazio was an innovator in colorectal surgery and pioneered the use of techniques that allow patients to avoid the need for colostomies. In 2008, he was named the Chairman of Cleveland Clinic's Digestive Disease Institute. Dr. Fazio previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Vice-Chairman of the Division of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. His contributions to the lives of his patients and the IBD community at large were immeasurable, and he will be missed.
