Hi Shawne,

I was just put on 2gms of Naproxen/day for the inflamation + with 2 grms of tramadol for the pain (right sacro-iliac, knee, ankle, cervicals and subscapular pain that had me throwing up and nearly ready to off myself)...I decided to take off 10 days and go away to the seaside.

7, 1 hour deep tissue massages that had me screaming my lungs out, 2 adjustments by an Ethiopath (sort of a cross between a chiro and an osteopath just a different phylosophy) and 2 hours of swimming/floating/stretching/walking daily.....

I can finally stand up and sit down without screaming....it was intensive, hard work, had me in tears most of the time but I am home now and have stopped the tramadol and am down to 1/2grm naproxen/day...not perfect but better.

I think that the only way to go is an intensive attack if possible...I was on lower doses of both meds plus 1-2 massages weekly and it barely touched it, just maintained the level...I am not sure how long the benefit will last but for now I am cheering the improvements.

Hope that you find your way out of the pain

Trying to understand these posts. Is there a correlation with j-pouches and inflammation in feet/ankles? Just wondered since I've had huge problems with my feet for a few years, but never thought about this being connected with the pouch issues. I had my colonectomy in 92 after 3 yrs of severe UC, and take down a year later in 93. I have done remarkably well, pouch-wise, but have had other issues with inflammation.

You can get IBD related arthritis years, even decades, after colectomy. Pouch inflammation can make it worse, but if you have spondylitis related to IBD, it can have a course independent from your IBD. For me, it all began with persistent plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis. Later came the sacroiliitis and my diagnosis of enteropathic arthritis.
