I am going on an international flight tomorrow. Does anyone know if there could be issues with me taking calmoseptine in hand luggage?
I know the rule seems to state any cream must be under 3oz and this is 4oz but perhaps security will be flexible if its for medical reasons?
I suppose I could do without it for the duration of the flight although its about 7 hrs and so ideally I would have it to hand in case I need it.

That's what I'd do. Buy a 3 oz container and stick some in it for the flight.
Yeah, the last thing I want is to have something important confiscated or to have to get into an explanation with TSA about a personal ointment. At the local drug stores they have those little plastic screw top jars that hold an ounce or less, like a lip gloss container. Plenty for most travel.

Jan, off topic, but what about epi-pens with the script on the box. Jeff is extremely allergic to,cats and if someone sits near him, he could have a serious reaction like he did in the hospital.

Epipens should be fine. With the Rx label on the box, it is identified as his. He just has to be sure to declare it. I'm sure they encounter these all the time, along with insulin/syringes.

Lol security won't be understanding. Just put some in a 3oz or smaller container and you'll be fine. Put the tube in your checked luggage.
I've often traveled with medical liquids in carry-ons. I just keep it separate and tell the TSA agent *before* it goes through the machine.

My husband and I fly all the time with his Epi pens all the time. I put one in our carry on and pack one in our luggage...I don't bring it to their attention and they've never said anything about it. Just have to make sure it stays in the box with his name on it.
jipalmer, thank you! I will pass all info on to the boys, as I am already in Florida! Weather has been really hot and humid and cloudy and rainy a lot but I still love it! I'm out of the northeast!
From a longer term planning point of view, most of these products (Calmopseptine included) are available in TSA-acceptable sizes, less than 3 oz. Not so helpful the day before a flight though, unless you planned well ahead. I tend to keep travel sizes around of the products I need.
