I have a question.  I have my J-pouch 1 1/2 yrs. now.  I have had three scopes and they always show the same thing.  No pouchitis, the pouch is great according to my surgeon.  I always have inflammation at the distal end. I am told I still have colitis there. It never goes away.  My dr's. have tried many medicines with no success.  I have experimented with many diets.  It is trial and error.  It is wearing me down.  It's like food is poison.  You eat and it tastes great, I never lack a appetite just some nausea.  Then after supper it starts running to bathroom many times and thru the night.  I have  burning and pain.  I try to tell my dr's that this pain is unbearable.  My surgeon will now collaborate with my GI dr. to try a new medicine on the market.  He said it's like Humara but with less side effects.  Although Humara didn't work for me before the ileostomy. Does anyone know the name of this drug I forgot.     Thanks for listening.  This site is very helpful to me I am glad I found it.

This may improve with time. I always have some inflammation in distal pouch w your symptoms    Antibiotics do help.  I suffered a lot my first three years, but I am in fourth year now and things ebb and flow. I will also probably always have some level of inflammation and the burning does stink but calmoseptine cream  does help. Good luck.
