I am 7 weeks from my reversal surgery and I seem to have issues urinating at the same time as emptying the pouch.  But then after that is done I can stand up and go just fine.  Guess it's good to have this option!  I know the reversal doesn't really have any work done down in that area but well I never really sat on the porcelain throne when I had the ileostomy so it could have been an issue from the pouch construction surgery and I wouldn't really know.

Could this be an issue with the pouch pressing into the bladder or something while sitting?  Not really sure as I'm only 36 and never had issues previously.  The urologist wanted to just prescribe medication but at this point don't really want to be taking medication unless absolutely necessary.  Have a follow-up with the surgeon Friday so will bring it up but wanted to see if anyone else may have experienced this.

This happens to me all the time.  Sometimes I can go #1 sitting down, but I often urinate even more after I stand up.  It's like I can't get it all out unless I'm standing up.  I asked the surgeon at Duke about this years ago and he just gave me some dismissive non-explanation.  I'm a male by the way--don't know if that makes a difference or not.
