Hi everyone,

It's my first time positing here, so pleas excuse me if this isn't the right place to post this question. I've been lurking on this site a while and have found your insight invaluable. Quick summary: I had my J-Pouch all hooked up in 2006, and have (thankfully) had no complications since then. I'm 25 years old and about to get married (hooray!). My future husband and I want to start trying to get pregnant immediately. Does anyone have or know of a good OBGYN in the NYC area who specializes or is familiar with women with j-pouches or GI issues? I want to start building a relationship with the right doctor as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading!

I am 34 years old, and became pregnant in September while I still had a temporary ostomy.  I was referred to a high risk OBGN because I had a J-Pouch (it happened to be temporarily unconnected when I got pregnant). My surgeons at Mount Sinai highly recommended Dr. Joanne Stone. http://www.mountsinai.org/profiles/joanne-stone. I had a great experience with her. She completely understood the complexities of the pregnancy with J-Pouch, and consulted with my surgeons before the c-section. She even had them on stand-by in case she ran into any difficulties during the c-section so she wouldn't harm the j-pouch. I would highly recommend her. Good luck!
