So was having difficulties going and finally had appt to go exploring. Checked pouch and all is well but did determine I needed to be dilated . First time for me. The way it sounded I thought maybe I'd be a mess going to the bathroom so much until the being "stretched out" went back to normal. So I thought I may be at home from a couple to a few days with that. So much to my surprise I haven't noticed much difference  when going to the bathroom, still difficult and wondering why the surgery- although minor.... Feeling frustrated ! But thought I read here that I needed to give it a little time as I may be swollen from them being In there looking around. For those  of you that have needed and had dilation, what can you tell me? Did u notice a difference right away?

Thanks,

The symptoms I had when I knew the stricture had appeared were multiple, back to back bathroom trips with very little output. The only way I could get decent output was with a good bit of straining and twisting on the throne.

I have had two dilations, I think, and a stricturoplasty. The doc recommended I purchase a dialator, and gave me the diameter so I could order the right one. I have it, but have not used it in several years.

The first several weeks after the dilation were wonderful. But then the stricture would come and go when it wanted.
