Leaking problem and Dr thinks fistula repair may help but there are risks of losing the jpouch too. Any experience with this?

I have a simple perianal fistula. My surgeon won't consider a repair because the risk of incontinence is higher for us after this indepth pelvic floor surgery, plus the fact I'm 43 and had a kid doesn't help, either.
