Hi my son has familial polyposis and had his colon removed in Sept of 2013 and when a jpouch was made it tore and ended up infected and now has a fistula. He has had leaking issues and the Dr said he can go in and fix the fistula but not 100 percent sure it will fix it and it could also cause him to lose his jpouch all together. Has anyone had a jpouch fistula repair? My son has been through hell with every complication. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

If you don't get any replies to your question, try doing a search for posts about fistula repairs. Most people have issues with rectovaginal fistulas, so those repairs are different. fistulas can be very stubborn and the longer they are present, the more difficult they are to deal with. Getting a second opinion from a surgeon with experience with this type of surgery would be a good idea.
