op went fine. my bowels started working the next day. its now Wednesday and they are releasing me later.

I don't really get any sensations in the pouch. Is this normal? I get cramps in my abdomen and around the old stoma site. I know I have to go when I get some pressure on the anus/sphincter. stools are liquidy but I can hold it for a bit.

I wipe with toilet paper then finish off with a wet wipe or two and then dry with another bit of toilet paper and then apply a dash of barrier cream (cavilon). no butt burn yet but I know this can come as I add more thing into my diet.

bit of muscle pain around the stoma wound too but all in all I think everything is going to plan

I know this is just the beginning of a bumpy road ahead

It's not necessarily a bumpy road ahead. The only real issue I had was an infection in my incision. I slowly introduced foods and 15 weeks after my surgery I moved to a new city and started my life again.
