J pouch 2011. Running to the toilet
for 3 days now (15 x per days) urgency but with little output. Feeling terrible now. Shaking, headache and feverish. What could this be? 10-15 x per day is not unusual but these flu like symptoms are. Started feeling like this last night but took meds to sleep. Now it's happening again tonight. I feel terrible.

Question I had my surgery a year agp this month. I am still having problems eating, meanimg that my stomach or part of my intetine is super sensative to foods still! Is this normal
In turn this also causes horrible problems with my weight! I am down to 93lbs. which is not good especially because my claases start monday the 25th!
Why am I so sensative to things I eat? and is there some kind of secret on how to maitain a healthy weight?

It's not normal to be struggling a year after surgery. I can't tell from your post if you've definitely tied this to sensitivity to specific foods, or if any food can set you off sometimes.

Basic techniques that help many people who are generally well include thickeners/bulking agentsw (like Meamucil, Citrucel, or Benefiber), bowel slowers (Lomotil or Imodium), and (for some) bacterial probiotics (VSL #3, Align). If no one has taken a look at your pouch you probably should have a pouchoscopy. Pouchitis could also be the culprit - it's a not-uncommon situation for J-pouchers, at least those who had IBD. For most folks it's easily managed with a course of antibiotic (commonly Flagyl or Cipro).

Kunga, You might also have a c.diff infection so a call to your doctor should be made if you don't feel better soon.

ljk - Have you thought about allergy testing to see if you are sensitive to any foods? I had a bad problem eating after my surgeries and lost a lot of weight. As soon as the food hit my system everything started to hurt so I didn't eat much until it gradually got better. I had plenty of weight to loose and my nutritionist had me drinking a healthy plant based protein shake daily to make sure I was getting the basics in my system.
