I'm just about 12 weeks from my takedown and am still having severe pains most days. There have been a couple of days without pain but not many. They are very sharp piercing/cramping type pains. When they start, they last for about 30 seconds each time and then go away. They last for several hours and after several BM's, when it feels like my pouch is finally empty, they usually go away. I also get pain/pressure when trying to urinate and/or have the feeling of urination and cannot go.

I just had another endoscopy under general anesthesia and had 2 hemorrhoids removed (one internal and one external) but otherwise he said my pouch looks great.

What he noticed was my uterus is putting pressure on my pouch. He could actually lift up on it with the scope and it would empty more of my pouch when he did it.

My surgeon thinks all of the pain is because there isn't enough room internally for my pouch to expand. It tries but doesn't have room so that pushes up on my uterus which pushes up on my bladder, which is causing pain and discomfort. Also the urgency sensation.

I may have to have a hysterectomy now. Has anyone ever heard of this? I just want this to end.

I'm exhausted, can't sleep, feel like I can't eat (without it causing pain) and I just can't take any more. I am back to work but struggle to make it 40 hours. I honestly don't know how people live like this. It's awful.

Any thoughts would be appreciated..

Thanks,
Wendy

I haven't talked to gyn yet. He didn't think it was tipped just that because of my anatomy and the size of the uterus that there just isn't room for the pouch to expand. Does this seem logical? I started thinking more about it and women have had full pregnancies without issues so how can "room" be the issue? If there's room for a baby, there should be room for my pouch to expand, shouldn't there?

He didn't notice any adhesions with the scope. How would we know if there were any?

I will see if gyn can get me in to see what she thinks.

Thanks Jan.
