Ive been having trouble for months (not with actual jpouch) with abdominal pain, nausea, weight loss, anemia, low grade fevers, etc... I've been in the hospital a couple times and had a scope today. They did the Prometheus testing a few weeks ago and it showed Ulcerative Colitis, but when they did my scope they found nothing in my jpouch was inflamed, but up further in the small intestine he found infamy action in a couple spots. My dr. Couldn't explain the results, he said UC doesn't really show up where my inflammation is, but my testing only showed UC. I'm so confused, he put me on flagyl for 2 weeks and pentasa.

The Prometheus test, or any of the IBD serology tests, are not conclusive. They are only for tipping the scales in one direction or another. They are beginning to understand that IBD is a whole spectrum of diseases, not just UC or Crohn's. So, you cannot just be "pigeon-holed" into one category or another.

Basically, it does not really matter too much what it is called. What matters is that they treat based on your presentation and if it works, then that is good enough.
