I have been to three different family physicians. 1st told shingles/other said does not look like shingles but did not see it when first happen. might be aftermath of shingles. tried to explain looks same now as it did in beginning. still no different answer. I have been suffering w/this off/on sometimes a lot worse like now. Not only under stress from j-pouch issues but other. Right now I feel like someone poured hot, scalding water on me. Itchy and feels like someone punched me in both shoulders. Several parts of my body. scars even though I do not scratch. I have always broken out on my face/chest when in pain, need to go to bathroom, nervous are few examples but never had feelings of pain/itching. Have an appt. to see dermatologist but b/c I want to see main doctor appt. is not until end of Feb. I am just not sure dermatatologist is the right kind of doc. since pain is a factor but family physicians have not helped. Any clue what it might be? Am I going to the right kind of doc????? Thanks in advance for any feedback!!!!!!!!

A dermatologist is a good place to start, if only to rule out a primary dermatologic disease. Since you are prone to rashes/eruptions triggered by a variety of events, this could well be related to an autoimmune disorder, so in the end, you may need a rheumatologist to be able to sort this out (unless you have already gone down that road...).
