Met with my surgeon today to discuss possibilities (which aren't great, but that's a subject for a different day) and one of them is a muscle graft repair for my (now) very large fistula. BUT instead of the gracilis muscle flap, they would use one from my abdomen, just below (I think) my rib cage. I was kind of in a state during the appointment, so I don't remember much of what she explained to me about how the graft would be done or what the name of the muscle is. I have another appointment in two weeks and will get more information on all the surgical options open to me before I make my decision.
In the meantime, has anyone here had such a muscle graft procedure done for an R/V fistula repair and/or know where I can find more information?
Thanks,
Gin
