Hi,

I am dealing with a RV Fistula right now...have been for over a year (thought it was a bartholin glad issue, was so bad I had surgery for it...they opened me up and found out it was fistulas instead). The GYN surgery helped keep the fistulas 'at bay' for a few months...but they are back.

I am in the middle of getting multiple opinions on what to do (one surgeon says a j-pouch revision with an ileostomy needed, one says seton and surgery from below (no bag)...getting another opinion next week).

And although draining fecal matter from near my lady parts, and having to wear a pad, and just feeling gross all sucks - I can deal with that. I am more upset that it has really interrupted my sex life with my husband. What have others done?

I know any approach I take, my question is going to be "what option gives me the best chance to have another kid?" *I have one, almost 2yrs old, had a wonderful pregnancy even after being a j-poucher..but really...you also have to have intercourse for that to happen too (well, not always, but you know what I mean).

Would love some advice. Thank you...
A bad situation that will probably take a while to heal...you need to become 'creative' in the bedroom until it is resolved and as for the pregnancy issue, well that can happen in different ways...I wouldn't allow the fistula to stop you from having enjoyment with your hubby just 'differently' until things settle down.
With all of my k pouch surgeries I have needed to learn a different set of sexual codes in order to keep our love life alive over the years...it was difficult to at first tell him that things had to change a bit and we couldn't continue our routine...but changing routines can be good for the bedroom too... Big Grin
