I just took my first induction does of 160mg of Humira today. I have been given it as a treatment for my antibiotic dependent pouchitis, as well as the complex fistula I have been diagnosed with. My internist believes that I have Crohns, though no positive signs so he's mostly going off my symptoms.

I was wondering if anyone who is/has taken Humira with a J pouch has had good results? Are you on Humira indefinitely? Do you notice it helps clear up pouchitis and heal fistulas?
I took Humira for a number of years, but not for pouchitis. It was for my enteropathic arthritis. Still, my pouch and cuff improved quite a bit while on it. I am now on Simponi, mostly because it is a monthly shot, and I needed weekly injections with Humira. Plus, Humira would sting quite a bit, and Simponi does not. Simponi is not approved for Crohn's, at least not yet, but recently was approved for UC. Since I started on Simponi a few years ago, my GI has said my pouch has never looked as good.

But, again, I didn't have chronic pouchitis, only occasional pouchitis and chronic cuffitis.

Oh, and yes, it is pretty much a maintenance drug after remission, unless you switch to some other maintenance drug.
